Four Mile Post April 2009

Easter is the time to get excited about the most powerful event in human history. The curse of our fallen nature is that what once thrilled us becomes ordinary. The reality of Christ’s resurrection hasn’t changed. We just may have lost the thrill of its significance. That is why the Bible exists. Peter says of his two letters that they are written to “stir up” or “arouse” by means of “reminder.” This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder. (2 Peter 3:1)

So I invite you to take half an hour today and meditate on the significance of Christ’s resurrection. What did God accomplish by raising Jesus from the dead?
